Lobbyists 4 Good changes their model
Washington, DC, June 26, 2017 – Lobbyists 4 Good, a new non-profit advocacy organization that enables everyday citizens to hire lobbyists, today announces they will make major changes to their crowdfunding model.
“There were a lot of pain points that we kept finding,” says Billy DeLancey, Co-founder and CEO of Lobbyists 4 Good. “With our new model, we will no longer be directing policy. Instead, we will be able to highlight our role as an intermediary, connecting everyday people to the influential lobbyists they are unable to access. Anyone can submit a campaign, and as long as it meets our Founding Principles, we will host the campaign on our platform.”
The new model is similar to Kickstarter, which allows members of the public to choose what issues they want to hire lobbyists for. Campaigns will have a certain amount of time to raise the $5,000 dollars required to hire a lobbyist for a month-long term. If the campaigns are successful, they will continue to raise money to extend the lobbying contract.
"Our organization's goal is to make democracy more accessible for all Americans. Our new model helps everyday people get things done in Washington. Citizens have a lot more influence than most people think, and they can benefit from lobbying professionals to help them navigate Congress and reach out to their members of Congress on their behalf." said Billy DeLancey, Lobbyists 4 Good's Co-founder and CEO.
In an AP poll conducted last July, 75% of Americans said they have too little influence in government. The work Lobbyists 4 Good is doing through their crowdfunding platform is helping to level the playing field between everyday Americans and large corporations, special interest groups, and wealthy donors. By hiring lobbyists to work on their behalf, the average American will have a stronger voice and more powerful representation in the halls of Congress.
